In trying to scale up its employees’ productivity, OCTS has been indulging in various initiatives since its establishment. In this vein, OCTS has recently rolled up the red carpet for Mr. Somasundaram Somalay, who shared his inspirational story and delivered a motivational speech that has instilled in the minds of the OCTS family a greater sense of positive outlook on life.
Mr.Somasundaram Somalay: From Nerkuppai To DuPont
Mr. Somasundaram Somalay is a dynamic go-getter with a vibrant mind. Hailing from Nerkuppai, a small village in the Sivagangai district, he went to the US where he worked at DuPont, one of the Fortune 500 companies for 30 years. Inspired by his father, who was a renowned Tamil writer, he devoted his life to helping and making a difference in the lives of the people in need.
Mr. Somasundaram has himself been part of various noble causes, focusing on women empowerment, rural development, health & hygiene, education, and more. He is an active member of the Tamil Nadu Foundation (TNF) and has successfully implemented over 1000 projects/ initiatives since its establishment in 1974. As part of his rural development activities, he founded Pepvil in Peppanayampatti, Madurai to provide employment to local talents.
The OCTS family felt privileged to have such a big shot here. During his speech, he shared the valuable wealth of knowledge and experience he gained in his life.

He gave it a humble start by introducing himself and his late father and beloved family which consisted of his wife, two daughters, and his young best friend – his grandson. He also gave a glimpse into his work experience, the missions he accomplished, and those still in the pipeline. Eventually, he took our employees into his insights which he backed by some stories of successful people and real-life examples.
The speech was really awesome and quite interesting, resonating with the tones of the young talents of OCTS. His fun and positivity-filled speech really served as a key to fire up the OCTS to believe in themselves and achieve greater heights in their life.
